It is a multifunctional and eco-friendly district that will be built in the northern part of Katowice, between Wojciech Korfanty Avenue and Konduktorska Street. The 30-hectare post-industrial area will be restored to the city. The concept for Nowy Wełnowiec was developed by JEMS Architekci, the designers of, among others, the International Congress Centre in Katowice. The Capital Park Group is a shareholder and strategic partner in this project, responsible for investment management and development supervision.
Nowy Wełnowiec is Capital Park’s first project in Silesia. It will be a place for meetings and integration, as well as a multi-generational, sustainable and multifunctional district that will focus on people and the climate. The investment will be open and planned in a sustainable manner – all car traffic will be moved from public spaces to level -1. In the future, most of the space will be occupied by flats. The remaining space will be used for catering, retail, services, as well as entertainment, cultural, scientific and social functions.
Nowy Wełnowiec is the first urban development project of this scale to obtain the Interim BREEAM Communities certificate.
